There are millions of podcasts today out there, but these guys simple got it. Great concept, and a nice pack sense of humor.
Podcasts? OK, for those of you don’t know what the heck I’m talking about, podcasts are kind of shows distributed on the internet, with the great advantage of the on-demand model. It’s like TV on your computer, magical isn’t it? For more and more professional you must check out the wiki page I guess.
Diggnation, Digg.com and Digg Labs
As the guys say “Diggnation covers some of the hottest user submitted stories of the social news website digg.com, that’s d-i-g-g dot com.” Well this says it all. Digg.com is a social news website, where users can submit their stories and the community “diggs” them (or not), that means they vote for the story. The more votes a story has the biggest the chance to be displayed on the front page.
Diggnation is the podcast where Kevin (Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.com) and Alex (Alex Albrecht, television personality) sits down with a couple bottles of beer - mostly in Kevin’s flat in San Fransisco - and they talk trough the most interesting stories of the week. For digg.com I rarely have the time it would deserve but lately I find myself checking out the Diggnation site regulary for the new episodes.
As a huge statistic and data visualization fan, I have to mention Digg Labs. It’s an impressive experiment to display the unbelievable mass of data around the users submitting stories in flash and in real time(!). Be sure to check it out, I did so!

Sure, shouldn’t forget Prager. The Mrs. Columbo of Diggnation – until the last episode (Episode 98 - May 17, 2007).
Have you heard about this?

A competition to see who can build the best diggnation fan site on the CMS Squarespace. The winner gets the new 3G iPhone and gets mentioned on the upcoming diggnation episode.
I just read this story: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/07/22/google-in-final-negotiations-to-acquire-digg-for-around-200-million/
